Area Naturale Protetta di Interesse Locale Artimino (IFF-1264)

On Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 14:53 UTC, Francois ON4AUB, a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Steve IQ5QO/P, a radio amateur from Italy who was operating from the Protected Natural Area of Local Interest Artimino (IFF-1264) on the 40m amateur radio band. Steve made 295 contacts in total while he was in the area.

Protected Natural Area of Local Interest Artimino (IFF-1264), is a protected area of 691 hectares located in the municipality of Camignano in the province of Prato, Tuscany, Italy. It was designated as a Protected Natural Area of Local interest in 2007.

The reserve which runs along the Montalbano Ridge has a great variety of hilly landscapes. The wooded area of the area is mainly of planted pine forests.However, areas of more natural Mediterranean scrub are developing and feature Holm oaks and Downy oaks.
