On Friday 27th January 2023, Marcus VK3TST, a radio amateur from the state of Queensland, Australia reached the summit of Bare Rock and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 18 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Bare Rock is 1170 metres (3839 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
