The BMW 318ti was the only version of the BMW 3-Series Compact that made it to the U.S. market. Aimed to market both young men and women, BMW launched an internet campaign in 1996 dedicated to promoting this hatchback, but after that, sales fell short of expectations, and was discontinued after 1998.
