Boubín is a peak in the Jihoceský kraj region of the Czech Republic. It is located 3.5kn (2.17) miles to the east of the village of Kubova Huť.
The slopes of Boubín are covered in Primeval Forest which is known as Boubínský prales. To preserve the forest Boubín has been within a nature reserve since 1858.
It is thought that the survival of the forest was a consequence of the mountainous nature of the landscape in this area which made mining difficult and expensive to develop.
