On Saturday 31st December 2022, Fernando EA4HGT, a radio amateur from Spain reached the summit of Cabezas de Hierro and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 17 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Cabezas de Hierro is 2380 metres (7808 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
