On Sunday 17th March 2024 at 07:39 UTC, Louis ON7LO a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Mirek SN9NT a radio amateur from Poland who was operating from Chelmski Protected Landscape Area (SPFF-0858) on the 40m amateur radio band.
Chelmski Protected Landscape Area (SPFF-0858) is a protected area of 37501 hectares of protected land east of Chelm in the extreme east of Poland. It was designated as a Protected Landscape area in 1983 by a national resolution.
The reserve's goal is to protect and preserve the landscape and cultural history within its boundaries.
