On Friday 22nd March 2024 at 12:24 UTC, Lacy YO6CFB, a radio amateur from Romania made contact with Vladimir OK7DA/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic who was operating from CHKO Cesky kras (OKFF-0016) on the 40m amateur radio band.
CHKO Cesky kras (OKFF-0016), is a protected area of 13,226 hectares lying south-west of Prague in the Czech Repulic. It was designated as a Protected Landscape Area in 1972 and is an IUCN Management Category V area.
An IUCN Management Category V area is a lived-in working landscape.
The limestone landscape of this reserve is characterised by a large flat plain above ground and a drainage system with sinkholes and caves underground.
