On Tuesday 21st February 2023, Matt VK/K0MOS/P, a radio amateur from Longmont, CO reached the summit of Cradle Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 12 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Cradle Mountain is 1545 metres (5069 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
