On Wednesday 27th March 2024 at 09:40 UTC, Fri DL4FDM, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Mike S55G/P, a radio amateur from Slovenia, who was operating from Dolina Vipave (S5FF-0056), on the 40m amateur radio band. Mike made a total of 221 contacts while at the reserve.
Dolina Vipave (S5FF-0056), is a protected area of 5112.2200 hectares lying in the west of Slovenia and south-east of the Italian city of Udine. It was designated in 2004 as a Specialy Protected area and is part of the Natura 2000 network.
The Natura 2000 network aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
