On Saturday 2nd March 2024, Brian BX2AKP, reached the summit of 關山 (Guān Shān) and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 6 contacts in total working on the 15m amateur radio band.
Tracking data from the website https://aprs.fi showed that Brian BX2AKP was at the summit between 02:30:50 and O2:45:35 UTC and operated CW on 21.063 MHz.
The summit of 關山 (Guān Shān) is 3668 metres (12034 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
