On Thursday 18th August 2022, Pat K7GUD a radio amateur from Victor, ID reached the summit of East Temple Peak and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 29 contacts in total working on the 40, 20 and 17 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of East Temple Peak is 3847 metres (12621 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
