On Friday 29th March 2024 at 13:44 UTC, Ralf DD0VE, a radio amateur from Germany, made contact with Willi OK1FWG/P, a radio amateur from the Czech Republic, who was operating from EVL Breznice - Obloucek (OKFF-2978), on the 40m amateur radio band. Willi made a total of 45 contacts while at the reserve.
EVL Breznice - Obloucek (OKFF-2978), is a protected area of 17.0636 hectares lying to the south of Breznice in the west of the Czech Republic. It was designated in 2013 as a Nature Monument and a Special Area of Conservation under the EU's Habitats Directive. It is an IUCN Management Category IV area and part of the Natura 2000 network.
An IUCN Management Category IV area is an area to protect particular species or habitats and are managed to prioritise this objective.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
