French Connection signed hockey jersey

French Connection signed hockey jersey (StreetView)
This framed Buffalo Sabres hockey jersey is autographed by Gilbert Perreault, Rick Martin, and René Robert. The three French-Canadian linemates went by the nickname "The French Connection". They played together with the Sabres from 1972-79.

Perreault was the first overall pick in the 1970 NHL Entry Draft. He played his entire career (1970-87) with Buffalo, scoring 512 goals in 1191 games. He was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1990.

Martin was the fifth overall pick in the 1971 NHL Entry Draft. He played in Buffalo from 1971-81 and finished his career with a handful of games with the LA Kings in 1981. His career was cut short due to a serious knee injury.

Robert's pro career began with a few short stints with the WHL's Vancouver Canucks and Phoenix Roadrunners and the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs. He played the 1971-72 season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, who traded him to Buffalo on March 4, 1972. He remained with the Sabres until being traded to Colorado on October 5, 1979.

This jersey is seen inside the First n' Goal sports memorabilia store.
