The Aviation Museum and Discovery Center projected to open in 2010 was established to help children and adults:
•Discover the wonders of flight from concept to reality.
•Explore the heritage of aviation.
•Dream about the future possibilities of science and technology.
•Engage in life-long learning and critical thinking that promotes national excellence in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Preliminary plans for the 60,000 square foot museum include a theater, meeting rooms and classrooms, and indoor exhibit space large enough to display a C-5.
