On Saturday 23rd March 2024 at 13:38 UTC, Lacy YO6CFB, a radio amateur from Romania made contact with Saku OH2NOS/P, a radio amateur from Finland who was operating from Gumbölenjoen vaahterametsikkö (OHFF-1617) on the 20m amateur radio band. Saku made a total of 194 contacts while he was in the reserve.
Gumbölenjoen vaahterametsikkö (OHFF-1617), is a protected area of 4 hectares located along the course of the River Gumbölenjoen to the west of Espoo in southern Finland. It was designated as a Protected Habitat in 2022.
