On Monday 17th October 2022, Reinhard OE7RGF/P, a radio amateur Austria reached the summit of Ilmspitze and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 24 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40, 20, 17 and 15 metre HF amateur radio bands.
