On Saturday 13th August 2022, Markus OE/IN3ADF/P a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Kärlsspitze and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 18 contacts in total working on the 40 metre HF amateur radio band.
