On Saturday 13th August 2022, Markus OE/IN3ADF/P a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Riepenspitze and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 25 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
