A stainless-steel sculpture of ‘King Canute’ designed by Christine Wilcox-Baker was commissioned by the Cheshire Gardens Trust and was originally installed in their show garden at the 2012 RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.
Tatton Park is on the outskirts of Knutsford, and it is from King Canute the town’s name is derived.
King Canute lived in the early 11th century and in later life was King of England, Denmark, Norway, and parts of Sweden.
