On Monday 5th June 2023, Masanori JO2BWZ/9, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Kyougadake and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 13 contacts in total working on the 40m and 30m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Kyougadake is 1625 metres (5331 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
The summit of Kyougadake is in the Fukui Prefecture on Honshu Island.
