On Tuesday 26th March 2024 at 14:50 UTC, Janos HA8TI, a radio amateur from Hungary, made contact with Jukka OH8CRX/P, a radio amateur from Finland, who was operating from Litokaira (OHFF-0895), on the 20m amateur radio band. Jukka made a total of 82 contacts while at the reserve.

Litokaira (OHFF-0895), is a protected area of 30,382 hectares located in North Ostrobothnia and the south of Lapland between Pudasjärvi and Ranua. It was designated in 2015 under the EU Special Areas of Conservation (Habitats Directive). It is protected by the Nature Conservation Act, and is part of the bog protection program and the Natura 2000 network.

Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.

The Litokaira Nature Reserve has the largest undisturbed area of 'Suometsäerämaa' still remaining in Europe, south of the Arctic Circle.
