On 26th March 2024 at 14:59 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with Paul AA4XX a radio amateur from Raleigh, NC who was operating from the Little River Regional Park and Nature Area (KFF-3861) on the 20m amateur radio band. Paul made a total of 74 contacts while he was at the park.

The Little River which flows through the park is an ideal aquatic habitat for beaver, otter, freshwater mussels and many other species. The flora along the river includes Sycamores and Birches.

The park has a diverse range of indigenous and migratory birds species which includes Warblers, Whippoorwills, Tanagers and Woodpeckers.
