On Wednesday 27th March 2024 at 16:32 UTC, Lothar DL3HXX, a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Len VE9MY, a radio amateur from Canada, who was operating from the Loyalists Burial Ground (Beaver Fountain) (VEFF-3230) on the 17m amateur radio band. Len made a total of 61 contacts while he was at the burial ground.
The Loyalists Burial Ground (Beaver Fountain) (VEFF-3230), is located in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada. The burial ground was first set aside as public ground in 1783 and closed to burials in 1848. The Grounds were restored in 1995 as a memorial for K.C. Irving who founded the first of the Irving group of companies. It was at this time that the beaver fountain was installed.
