Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was originally interred in the cemetery of Währing but in 1863 his remains were exhumed and interred in the Vienna Central Cemetery (Zentralfriedhof) in a honorary graves.

The gravestone is a replica of the one in Währing.
