On Wednesday 6th September 2023, Gregory W7GA & Clarence KK7LAE, two radio amateurs from the State of Utah, reached the summit of Monroe Peak and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
They made 22 contacts in total working on the 40m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Monroe Peak is 3422 metres (11227 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
