On Sunday 15th October 2023, Jo F/I1WKN/P, a radio amateur from Italy, reached the summit of Mont Froid and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 44 contacts in total working on the 70cm, 2m, 6m, 17m and 20m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mont Froid is 2822 metres (9259 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
