On Friday 9th February 2024, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from Sandton, South Africa, reached the summit of Mont Pelaan and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 27 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m and 10m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Mont Pelaan is 2292 metres (7520 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
