On Sunday 11th February 2024, Brandon ZS6LZ, a radio amateur from Sandton, South Africa, reached the summit of Aasvoelkop and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 33 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m. 20m and 10m amateur radio bands.
