On Sunday 31st July 2022 Bjoern I2/DL7RAY/P a radio amateur from Germany reached the summit of Monte Confinale and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 25 contacts in total working on the 20 metre HF amateur radio band.

The summit of Monte Confinale is 3370 metres (11056 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
