On Saturday 30th September 2023, Arthur HB9CEV/P, a radio amateur from Switzerland, reached the summit of Monte del Forno and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 43 contacts in total working on the 60m, 40m, 30m and 20m amateur radio bands.

The summit of Monte del Forno is 3214 metres (10545 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
