On Saturday 17th September 2022, Fred WX1S, a radio amateur from Strafford, NH reached the summit of Mount Cabot and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 14 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mount Cabot is 1271 metres (4170 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
