On Friday 19th August 2022, Mike K6STR and Lor W6LOR a couple of radio amateurs from La Canada, CA reached the summit of Mount Morgan and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 36 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Mount Morgan is 3963 metres (13002 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
