On Saturday 20th August 2022, Mike K6STR and Lor W6LOR a couple of radio amateurs from La Canada, CA reached the summit of Red Mountain and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

They made 26 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF radio bands.

The summit of Red Mountain is 3495 metres (11467 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
