On Monday 26th September 2022, Dean K2JB, three radio amateurs from Asheville, NC reached the summit of Mount Sterling and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 5 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Mount Sterling is 1781 metres (5843 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
