On Saturday 31st December 2022, Victoria VK3ZPF, a radio amateur from the state of Victoria reached the summit of Mt Torbreck and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 15 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
The summit of Mt Torbreck is 1516 metres (4974 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
