On Wednesday 20th March 2024 at 14:30 UTC, Thomas DL1DVE a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Markus HB9DIZ a radio amateur from Switzerland who was operating from Napfbergland Natural Monuments, BE Part on the 40m amateur radio band.
Napfbergland Natural Monuments, BE Part, is the part of a large a protected area of 16,124 hectares of land in the canton of Bern in the heart of Switzerland east of the city of Bern.
The landscape has both rolling hills and deep, steep forested gullies whilst pastureland stretches along the flatter ridges.
