On Sunday 17th March 2024 at 08:53 UTC, Fred DL8DXL a radio amateur from Germany made contact with Wojtek SP9LPK/P a radio amateur from Poland who was operating from Chelmski Protected Landscape Area (SPFF-0858) on the 40m amateur radio band.
National Park Gor Stolowych (SPFF-0017) is a protected area of 6334 hectares of protected land south-east of Karlow in the extreme south-west of Poland. It was designated as a Protected Landscape area in 1993 by a national resolution. It is part of the Natura 2000 network which extends across the European Union.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
