On Sunday 17th March 2024 at 11:40 UTC, Jacek SQ8IJR a radio amateur from Poland made contact with Piotr SP9MCN/P a radio amateur also from Poland who was operating from Natura 2000 Beskid Niski (SPFF-1837) on the 10m amateur radio band.
Natura 2000 Beskid Niski (SPFF-1837) is a protected area of 151,967 hectares of protected land south-east of Nowy Sacz. It was designated as a Special Protection Area for birds in 2007 is part of the Natura 2000 network.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
