On Friday 29th March 2024 at 15:57 UTC, Danny ON4VT, a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Vicente F/EA2EZ, a radio amateur from Spain who was operating from Natura 2000 - Massif de la Rhune et de Choldocogagna (FFF-0203), on the 20m amateur radio band. Vicente made a total of 108 contacts while at the reserve.
Natura 2000 - Massif de la Rhune et de Choldocogagna (FFF-0203), is a protected area of 5,385 hectares in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques Department of the New Aquitaine Region of France. It was designated in 2014 as a Special Area of Conservation under the EU's Habitats Directive and is part of the Natura 2000 network.
Natura 2000 aims to protect many of Europe's most vulnerable and threatened habitats and species.
