On Thursday 28th March 2024 at 12:27 UTC, Markus HB9DIZ, a radio amateur from Switzerland, made contact with Paul DL6FBK/P, a radio amateur from Germany, who was operating from the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Oberlausitzer Heide- & Teichlandschaft" (DLFF-0025), on the 40m amateur radio band.
The UNESCO Biosphere Reserve "Oberlausitzer Heide- & Teichlandschaft" (DLFF-0025), is a protected area of 30,102 hectares located in the east of Saxony, Germany. In 1996 it was recognised as the thirteenth UNESCO biosphere reserve in Germany and is amongst the largest pond areas in Germany.
