On Sunday 17th July 2022 Andy OE6ADE/P a radio amateur from Austria reached the summit of Nebelkareck and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 39 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Nebelkareck is 2535 metres (8317 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
