A mural on the shutters of the RM Fitness Gym on Viaduct Steet in Salford is a ‘Thank You’ message to the National Health Service (NHS).
The mural has a silhouette city skyline at the base above which is the message “Thank you NHS” in bottom right-hand corner is a rainbow.
A rainbow was widely displayed in the UK during the covid-19 pandemic to show support for the efforts of all those working in the health service.
Above the message there is a large ‘honey-bee’. The bee symbol is widely seen in the city of Manchester and features on the City’s Coat of Arms. The bee signifies industry and Manchester is proud of its industrial heritage.
