On Tuesday 21st June 2022 the Manchester Evening News website reported that a Salford Rum Company had moved into a railway arch under the viaduct which carries lines into Manchester Victoria Railway Station.
The owners of the distillery met at school in Leigh and have developed the business rapidly since 2018 selling over 30,000 bottles of gin in 2021.
The craft rum-making still at the new premises can produce 700 bottles of rum per batch.
