On Wednesday 20th March 2024 at 18:00 UTC, Danny ON4VT a radio amateur from Belgium made contact with Paul AA4XX a radio amateur from Raleigh, NC who was operating from Nicholson Creek Game Land (KFF-6280) on the 30m amateur radio band.
Nicholson Creek Game Land in the state of North Carolina is rich in wildlife, including bear, turkey, and deer. It is a popular destination for hunting and fishing or for those who just want to hiking and camping and enjoy the pristine wilderness.
Interestingly the area is home to a number of rare and endangered species, including the Carolina northern flying squirrel.
