On Sunday 24th March 2024 at 11:59 UTC, Zdenko 9A4FM, a radio amateur from Croatia made contact with with Zsolt (HA8FY) using the call-sign HG4FY/P, a radio amateur from Hungary who was operating from Nyugat-Mecsek TK (HAFF-0033) on the 40m amateur radio band. Zsolt made a total of 61 contact while he was at the reserve.
Nyugat-Mecsek TK (HAFF-0033), is a protected area of 10,359 hectares located north of the city of Pécs in southwestern Hungary. It was designated as a Landscape Protection Area in 2009 and is an IUCN Management Category V area.
