Old North Bridge, Concord, MA

Old North Bridge, Concord, MA (StreetView)
The Colonists and British engaged in combat at this bridge in what would be known as the Battle of Concord. The Redcoats mission was to hunt down the colonial weapons, powder and leaders. The Colonists were able to organize quickly thanks to an effective warning system led by Paul Revere and William Dawes. The Colonial numbers and lack of effective leadership for the British allowed the Colonists shocking success. The battles of Lexington and Concord emboldened the Colonists to stand in defiance of British tyranny.
