On Friday 14th April 2023, Waka JA0AWE/0, a radio amateur from Japan reached the summit of Otomiyama and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 39 contacts in total working on the 40m, 30m, 20m and 15m amateur radio bands.
The summit of Otomiyama is 2287 metres (5013 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
Otomiyama is in the Nagano Prefecture on the Island of Honshu.
