On Tuesday 20th September 2022, Alain EA/F5ODQ/P, a radio amateur from France reached the summit of Pic de Gabiet and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 35 contacts in total working on the 40 and 20 metre HF amateur radio bands.
