On Monday 25th July 2022 Santiago EA2EOW a radio amateur from Spain reached the summit of Pico Ferreras and became the first to activate this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.

He made 15 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF and the 20metre HF amateur radio bands.

The summit of Pico Ferreras is 2646 metres (8681 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA groups database.
