On Sunday 18th September 2022, Marco IU2HEE, a radio amateur from Italy reached the summit of Pizzo Arera and activated this summit on the amateur radio bands for the Summits on the Air (“SOTA”) group.
He made 49 contacts in total working on the 2 metre VHF amateur radio band.
The summit of Pizzo Arera is 2512 metres (8241 feet) asl. It has a rating of 10 points on the SOTA group database.
